The Namushasha Country Lodge, just 24 km south of Kongola in the eastern Caprivi region of Namibia, is a luxury bush safari lodge with a 2009 Bronze Certificate of Excellence from the Hotel Association of Namibia under its belt. Namushasha Country Lodge is on the banks of the Kwando River and overlooks a peaceful hippo pool. The Lodge is surrounded by game parks, i.e. the West Caprivi Game Park, Bwabwata National Park and Mudumo National Park, with the Mamili Park just 70 km away by road. At the luxury Namushasha Country Lodge you are accommodated in 27 en suite chalets, all with mosquito nets and private balcony. Beautiful sleigh beds and granite tiled floors complete the picture. Observe the game welcoming the dusk from the sundowner deck or order a refreshing drink from the bar before enjoying a delicious buffet meal in Namushasha’s restaurant. There is also a well-stocked curio shop where you can buy special gifts for the family and friends back home. The small pool offers respite from those hot and humid days. Since the Namushasha Country Lodge is surrounded by game parks, game viewing is the main activity at the Lodge. There are many opportunities to self drive, or enjoy a guided game drive or walk. We offer boat trips for game viewing or birding on the Kwando River, or guided fishing trips. The birdlife is rich and varied, with around 400 species having been recorded in the area surrounding the Namushasha Country Lodge in Namibia. If you really want to enjoy an adrenalin rush, why not try the spotlight night boat or vehicle trip – you will be able to see nocturnal animals (crocodiles and hippos) from up close. They also offer a hiking trail of 4 km, where you will be able to see a rich variety of animals and plants. If you are more of a “culture vulture”, you will find a visit to the Lizauli Traditional Village and Mashi Craft Centre fascinating. Here you will be able to see the basket weavers and wood carvers in action. Namushasha Country Lodge is also a paradise for keen photographers, so make sure you have a few extra memory cards for your camera. |

NAMIBIA LODGES
From Namushasha Lodge in the Caprivi it is about 400 km to Rundu where you can overnight before driving further to Damarland which is now known as the Kunene District of Namibia. Spend 2 nights at the Vingerklip Lodge next to the Vingerklip rock about 1000 km from Namushasha Lodge. Travel deeper into Damaraland and into the desert. You will eventually find the coastal road to Swakopmund. In Swakopmund The Stiltz is our prefered lodge. This lodge is on poles in the Swakop River very near the beach.
If you drive between Cape Town and the Caprivi, Mariental River Chalets in Mariental is about halfway between Namushasha Country Lodge and Cape Town. But please do not concider using a Mercedes Benz or Mitsubishi Motors for such a trip. They are known for poor service and there are only a very few dealers in Namibia.
BOTSWANA LODGES
It will take you just about two hours from Namushasha Country Lodge to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. In the Chobe/Kasane region Chobe Safari Lodge is the best accommodation in terms of value for money. This lodge is a luxury lodge with many activities. If you decide to drive via Chobe back to Windhoek in Namibia you will need to spend a night at Thakadu Camp near Ghanzi in Botswana.
ZIMBABWE LODGES
You can easily reach Zimbabwe within a day from Namushasha Country Lodge in Namibia. If your destinion is Hwange National Park it might benefit you to use the Pandamatenga border, but be aware, they close at 17h00. In Hwange National Park you can choose between a variety of accommodation, but consider Hwange Safari Lodge. It is a beautiful lodge on the edge of the park. From Hwange drive to Binga and spent a few nights in Kulizwe Lodge on the southern shores of this lake.
Another option would be to arrange a transfer from Namushasha Country Lodge to the airport at Katima Mulilo and to fly from there via Windhoek to Harare the capital city of Zimbabwe. In Harare you can relax at the five star Rainbow Towers Hotel. This is perhaps the most luxurious hotel in the country. Hire a car in Harare and drive east towards the Vumba Mountains or Eastern Highlands. Here the Leopard Rock Hotel is a five star hotel with a world class golf course.
SOUTH AFRICAN LODGES
From Namushasha Country Lodge to Hanover in the Northern Cape will take you two days solid driving. Overnight in the Hanover Lodge, a bed and breakfast hotel, before you continue to the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape. Along the Wild Coast you can spend some time in either Kob Inn neat Qora Mouth or at Umngazi River lodge near Port St Johns. Both destinations are luxury family resorts.
If you drive via Botswana you will certainly cut out some distance. Namushasha Is in the far east of Namibia and Botswana is directly between the Caprivi and South Africa. If you choose this route overnight at the Hakuna Mutata Guesthouse in Koffiefontein before you continue to the King David Hotel in East London.
